Its coral fin not coral fan! Actually, it IS coral fan! Coral Fans, also known as sea fans, are more correctly called Gorgonians. They are colonial soft corals which grow in a "fan" shape and anchor in sand instead of on hard surfaces as hard corals do. Their primary predators are fish such as, but not limited to, angelfish and butterfly fish. They eat plankton which they capture as it drifts past them.
Sea fans are a special type of coral, called Gorgonians.

Two types of coral that exhibit branching are fan coal and finger coral. Fan Coral: comes in many colors, has soft finger- like branching that is rounded at the ends. Finger Coral: distictively gray growing in thick colonies.

Sea anemone attaches itself to coral but it is not coral(predatory animal) A sea sponge is a filter feeding animal and a sea fan is soft coral but not a coral reef. sea anemone, sea sponge, sea fan (This is the answer that was given first and it is not correct)
