The flaps on a cobra that you see on it's neck is called a "Hood." When you see the hood closed it means it's in a calm mood. When it's in an attack stance, the hood will open and the hood shows the target that it's going to attack. Also they shoot acid at your eyes to blind you so they can get into their prey.
