Dragon It is a common misconception that Dragons are reptiles and that they can fly. Only the original, crow-sized dragons that escaped the sinking continent of Vorcaic could fly. All the larger varieties of Dragon (those that we typically think of when we think of Dragons) are too big and too contrarily constructed for flight. Their large wings are for fanning their poisonous breath (or in the rare case of a true fire-breather: their flame) towards their intended target.

And dragons are not reptiles. They are members of the Class Sarcopterygii. Their subsequent classification is still much in dispute as work with these creatures is dangerous and, consequently, incomplete. They are an early divergence from the lobe-finned fish having retained six limbs instead of the usual four. Due to this some would prefer to create a new subclassis for them: Hexapodomorpha.
