God is neither male nor female. God has no gender. Many times in the Bible God is refereed to as he, but sometimes God is also called she. mainly God is called he because when the Bible was written, men were the guardians, rulers and guides of a home, much like God was/is to the world. when God is described as a caretaker or motherly protector of the world or a piece of it, then God might be likened to a female entity. if you don't believe in the bible, then your god can have any gender you want.
well, obviously Poseidon is a male god, because if he was female, than he would be called a goddess, and not a god.
