A blowback airsoft gun, is a co2 or gas powered airsoft gun where the slide on the top of the gun moves back when fired. Some people like these guns because they look cool when fired, however they use more co2 or gas.

In the past, a person would have to CAREFULLY lower the hammer while pointing the pistol in a safe direction. If they slipped, they would fire a bullet accidentally AND their thumb would get hurt--mashed by the recoiling slide & hammer. A decocking lever prevents such accidents by LOWERING the cocked hammer to a safe position. Once utilized, if the shooter wanted to prepare the pistol for firing, they would have to: Manually recock the hammer, if the pistol were a single action only type, or, manually recock, or utilize the pistol's long Double Action trigger, if the pistol was a Double Action/Single Action type.

Most likely a bad battery. Change it for a brand new one (not rechargeable). If that does not fix it take it apart and clean it fully, make sure to check ALL of your orings. If the problem continues, take it to a pro shop, it probably wont cost more then $20 for whatever parts you need.

Otherwise, if the gun has an external cocking mechanism. recock and attempt to fire. If it still does not fire, wait 30 seconds (still pointing in safe direction) eject cartridge, load fresh cartridge, attempt to fire. Dispose of the bad cartridge in a safe manner.
