Bad things are "BY PRODUCTS" which means it is from the worst part of the animal, such as beaks, feet, etc. Other things you don't want to see is wheat, corn, soy, other fillers. A good dry food has all the necessary vitamins in it and is a well balanced dog food. There are lots of good dry dog foods out there but some are so very over priced. The ones I named above are good ones that are reasonable in price. You can always give your dog treats with using raw pieces of carrots & other veggies. Check to see how your dog does on the food you pick to feed. The coat should be shiny, stools firm & small, etc. You don't want to see hot spots, loose large stools, dull coat, etc. I have been a breeder of Bullmastiffs (and I also show them so need good shiny coats) since 1982 and I have explored all of the different diets. I am now feeding both Innova and Natural Choice.
