What is a good gps system?

It depends on the type system you are looking for, for a hand held that only gives directions I found the Tom Tom to be the best in both value and features. However, if you are looking for a GPS vehicle tracking and anti-theft system then I found the Millennium Plus to be the latest cutting edge technology. That would depend on what you are looking for, GPS navigation or vehicle tracking? If you want a GPS that gets you from point A to point B via maps and/or voice promps, them any of the Garmin models are about the best. There is GPS for surveyors and mappers. Probably the best names are Trimble and Sokkia . . . maybe Leica, as well.

There is also GPS for navigation in a vehicle like a car or a boat. There is no 'best', but Garmin Nuvi is one of the most purchased ones.

There is also GPS for geocaching. Garmin, Magellan, Lowrance, and other are all good brands. I have a little Magellan Explorer 200 handheld that I really like because of the ease of use and the respectable accuracy.
