Bushnell
Depends on the use of the scope - target, hunting, etc. Will also depend on the caliber, and whether firearm or air rifle or handgun. 120 feet (40 yards) is not a great distance (I predator hunt at 500-600 yards) so a very high magnification scope is not needed- 2.5- 4x should be adequate unless you are shooting TINY targets.
Depends on what you are shooting. Targets, varmints, or big game. for deer, I use a 3x9 variable. An expreme high power scope may limit the field of view to a degree that I can't FIND the deer in the scope. Long range target, a 12 power scope. Varmints (woodchuck) I use a 6x24 power. More powerful scopes tend to have a smaller field of view, and be less bright.
It's all about the optics. When you are looking for a scope you need to look at what you are using it for. The magnification and objective lens size will be the main things to look at. For example you would not want a standard 4 X scope if you plan on hunting varmints or shooting 700 yards at a target. You would want to go with a higher power and a larger objective lens. There are many things to understand when looking for a scope and this is just one thing.
First you have to know what you are shooting. Then you have to know how close you plan on getting to the victim. If it's a bear, you want to be close range, so you don't need a high powered scope. If you are hunting deer from three hundred yards away, you'll need the best scope you can get. There is no set number depending on what gun you have, it's all about what you are shooting. Since both calibers are very versitile, you might want to get a variable power scope. I have a Winchester 1917 30-06 with a 4X~ 12X that works over a wide range of applications.
If you spend most all of your hunting time in thick woods & brushy areas - I would consider a fixed power scope ( 4x should be good ). I personally use a variable power scope ( 3x9 ). This way I can cover both woods & more open areas. Since you will not be shooting over about 100 yards, something with a wide field and not too much magnification is best.
ABOUT 200 yards.
im pretty sure you sight it in like every other scope as long as you keep the parellax in mind. sight in at 75 yards
Since most 35 remingtons will be used out to about 150 yards or so; a decent scope of 4x or a 3x9 will do nicely!
Pretty decent, at least.
If a rifle scope adjustment of 1 click moves the reticle 14 inches at 100 yards, the movement at 25 yards can be calculated using the ratio of the distances. Since 25 yards is a quarter of 100 yards, the movement at 25 yards would be 14 inches divided by 4, which equals 3.5 inches. Therefore, 1 click would move the reticle 3.5 inches at 25 yards.
after a great deal of practice and a powerfull rifle scope.................
sight in at 100 yards half inch high dead on at 200 yards. one flat shooting s o b
