Normally healthy people do not entertain suicidal thoughts. A form a depression or other mental or brain problems are usually the impetus for suicide attempts. Some people who are dying will sometimes entertain ideas of attempting suicide. The problem is that most of the time a suicide attempt does not work but will get the person the real help they need. So rather than making any attempts at suicide it is better to get the problems resolved as best as possible. Some people fail to realize that a brain tumor or a simple, treatable sickness can make them feel suicidal. That is why I say it is better to get an exam by a doctor to see why the person has suicidal thoughts in the first place. Bullying of any kind can be a cause of suicide. I was bullied all 12 years of public school (and cyber anything didn't even exist back then) and the suicidal thoughts began in late Jr. High or early High School. Even though I graduated in 1975 and the bullying gradually quit in college, I still fight the thoughts almost every day since. While I generally have better coping mechanisms now, sometimes the only tool I can find to fight against the suicidal thoughts is to very briefly get angry at the bullies again for having hurt me that way. I can see how easy it would be for someone to act on them.
