In this case the obvious relative is well actually the hyena are a family of their own, the Hyaenidae. They're more closely related to cats than dogs, but their closest relatives are the Herpestidae, mongooses, Meerkats and such. There are also four species of hyenas: the spotted, striped and brown hyenas and the aardwolf. The aardwolf eats only termites. Hyenas
A group of hyenas is typically referred to as a "clan." Hyenas are social animals that live in matriarchal societies, often consisting of related females and their offspring. The term "colony" is more commonly used for other animals, such as insects or certain birds. Therefore, "clan" is the correct term for a group of hyenas.
No only humans have babies, Hyenas have young called "cubs".
Most lions have an innate fear of humans. A lone lion fears a large group of hyenas as the hyenas can overpower a lion or two if they hyenas outnumber the lions.
Hyenas howl to communicate with their group and establish territory. The significance of their howling behavior in the wild is to warn off intruders, strengthen social bonds within the group, and coordinate group activities such as hunting.
Rhinos are solotary, therefore do not ever form packs ^Wrong! Scientist have done a new study showing that Rhinos do gather a pack together for a period of 6 weeks a year (mating season). Therefore scientist have named a pack of rhinos, a Rhijelly.
Nope. Hyenas are members of the feliformia group of the order Carnivora- which means they are closer related to cats and mongooses than to any kind of canid.
