How do the hard disk work After replacing it?

It spins for one ( at usually 7200 rpm) and writes in a language that involves 1 and 0's(Binary Code) It is a like a rewritable CD but a lot cooler A hard disk stores data in much the same way as a floppy drive, magnetic pulses are imprinted onto the surface of the disk by a read/write head which can also then read the data back. Hard disks differ from floppies in that the data can be stored in much higher densities and accessed at much higher speeds by using a non-removable disk which is sealed from contaminants. Modern hard disks usually have several disks within them (platters) and dedicated read/write heads for both sides of each. The platters themselves are usually made of some aluminum alloy coated with a thin layer of iron oxide and are very rigid. A hard disk drive (HDD), commonly referred to as a hard drive, hard disk, or fixed disk drive, is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Strictly speaking, "drive" refers to a device distinct from its medium, such as a tape drive and its tape, or a floppy disk drive and its floppy disk. Early HDDs had removable media; however, an HDD today is typically a sealed unit (except for a filtered vent hole to equalize air pressure) with fixed media.

In what format is data stored in a computer?

Data is store momentarily in computers in RAM. Random Access Memory are chips that contain registers that retain their electrical state for as long as its either changed or the power is turn off. Data can also be store permanently in a Hard Drive. HD are nothing more than a magnetic disc that spins around while a writing head magnetises the surface of the disc, creating areas to simbolize ones and zeros; the digital language of computers.

What does a harddrive on a Compaq computer look like?

Its a small metal box 3.5 inches wide, about 5 inches long and about an inch thick. It will usually be mounted in the case below the cdrom drive, and will be connected to the motherboard with a wide "ribbon cable" as well as to the power supply by a power plug with 4 wires.

How does the earth spin around the sun?

the earth spinds around the sun because gravity makes it orbit

Why are crankshafts counterbalanced?

The weight of the piston, rings, and connecting rod is concentrated out at the rod journal. As the crank spins, it throws that weight around. The counterweight is on the opposite side from the rod journal to offset this weight. This is why when you replace pistons or rods, the crank is rebalanced by adding or removing material from the counterweight.

A motor is a mechanism that spins by means of electric energy and uses magnetism to spin. It uses energy.

What are the three main parts of a rifle and how do they work?

Lock, stock and barrel. Lock holds the firing mechanism, stock gives you something to hold onto, barrel spins the projectile.

Earth spins on its?

If you mean earth spins in its? Then the answer is Earth spins on its axis, while also orbiting the Sun.

How cellphone vibrate?

My guess would be that a small motor spins a disk which is slightly out of balance. If the wheel is perfectly balanced, the wheel would not vibrate. Instead, it might give off a whirring sound, but not vibrate. Out of balance, the wheel would have momentum in one direction and then another as the wheel spins. It may be interesting to see the actual mechanism.
