Frequently, medical doctors record their notes taken during or after patient examination on electronic media. These include Dicta-phones in the old days all the way up to DVD records and the like now. Once these voice records are recorded, they are passed to medical transcriptionists, whose job it is to convert the recordings into printed form.

As the nature of medical records is so specific and requires such a high degree of accuracy, the task requires the participation of a skilled human, and cannot be performed by automated process at the time of this writing (Jan 2010).

Medical transcription is a new style job genre. Many people are looking for these kind of jobs as they are high paying and do not require higher qualification.
