Mountain Alligators are an indigenous species to the mountains on the Pacific coast. The largest known population in the world is located in the area of Big Sur, California, and it's known enemy is the Flying Iguana. The Mountain Alligators have been known to slide down land slides on their bellies, into the local rivers, and to the ocean. They are one of the few animals known to inhabit both fresh and salt water.

When camping (especially with no tent) one should never be alone, as they are nocturnal and hunt at night. The females are very aggressive when protecting their young, and the males have a taste for flesh. If trying to escape, run downhill and

zig-zag, or climb a tree.
