Person is composed of basic core structures as well as physiologic, psychological, sociocultural, developmental, and spiritual variables; these core structures and variables constantly interact with the environment.
Environment is described as those internal and external forces surrounding the person at any given time, as an open system. The created environment is an unconsciously developed protective environment that binds system energy and encompasses both the internal and external client environments; it acts as a perceptual safety mechanism to maintain system stability.
Health is defined by Neuman as a state of wellness or system stability; is demonstrated by the harmony or balance of all the parts and subparts of the client system; is reflected by the level of wellness.
Nursing is unique profession concerned with all variables affecting clients in their environment. Nursing is preventive intervention; uses primary, secondary, and tertiary interventions to reduce a client's stressors
