I think around 1850-1855 photography was fairly widespread and commonly accepted. The oldest family pictures I have are from 1850-1852 and were taken in southern Indiana in an outdoor studio. They are beautiful in their simplicity.

Stock photography is when a photographer will use several photos that they have to taken to make one image. People use the photos they have taken, ie they're stock, and put them together.
Architectural photography is simply the photographing of buildings and similar structures. The photographs can be taken inside or outside the building, and will be both aesthetically pleasing and accurate.
Most people call them aerial photographs. Intelligence officers call them "overhead" because in the spy business, aerial Photography is called "overhead coverage."
