Neither, because it dies out. See the answer to the question "what happens to a glowing splint....."
Helium is a group 8 element, and therefore a noble gas. It has no free electrons to bond to oxygen, therefore it won't oxidise or combust. So no, it won't. As a side note, you may hear of stars "burning" helium, but this Ian burning, its nuclear fission :)
Ember
Ember is a small part of glowing wood, which is still burning. If it is burning for a while it is a piece of coal. It is found near a campside fire, that is still glowing.
The splint test is to test for the presence of oxygen. You light a small piece of wood (the splint), then blow it out. The end of the wood will still glow. If you put the glowing splint into a test tube with oxygen, it will relight. It you put the glowing splint into a test tube with carbon dioxide, it will stop glowing. A better test for carbon dioxide is to bubble it through a solution of limewater.
OXYGEN RELIGHTS A GLOWING SPLINT Oxygen.
It depends upon the situation. For there are two known equivalents in ancient, classical Latin for the English word 'coal'. A piece of coal is a piece of glowing carbon, or of charred wood. The Latin word pruna refers to the live coal, and the word carbo to burning or burned wood.
The smallest piece of carbon dioxide is called a molecule, which consists of one carbon atom bonded to two oxygen atoms.
The colourless gas that reignites a glowing splint is oxygen. When a glowing splint, which is a piece of wood or paper that has been smoldered and is not flaming, is introduced to oxygen, the increased concentration of this gas allows it to combust and reignite. This reaction is commonly demonstrated in experiments to showcase the properties of oxygen in supporting combustion.
The release of heat can result in the production of light in the form of either glowing or a flame.
Embers are left after the burning of a carbon based fuel. Embers are the reminents of a fire. They are still hot and can relight a fire if fuel is added to them. Embers are the stage before ash, were the fuel has been burnt completely.
Yes it is a one piece. The thing that makes it what it is, is the carbon inserts in the handle
