The act of a goat giving birth is called kidding and that is why a young one of a goat is known as a kid. This can also be referred to as parturition.
Mothers will make a nest in the bedding floor to give birth on, her vulva will loosen and redden. She will lay down and get up until she is ready to give birth. Once parturition begins she will have a contraction, the first will be born, then after that piglets will be born about ever 2-5 seconds until she is finished. Piglets will begin walking almost right after being born and begin to nurse.
Well, If you want you can be there to watch but the guinea pig does not need you and in fact DO NOT touch her or the babies, and try not to touch her when she is giving birth nor the babies until the next week.
