A lightning rod.
I think it's just normal metal. I belive it has to have a certin type of ingrediant in the metal to attract it to the electricity in the lightning. As in, the telephone and television wires attract lightning and electricity with some sort of element in the metal.
A magnet is an object that attracts metal due to its magnetic field. When a metal object comes in close proximity to a magnet, it is pulled towards the magnet due to the attractive force between the magnetic poles.
because magnets attracts any object that is metallic or has metal in them
Metal is a good conductor of electricity, so being near or touching metal objects during a lightning storm can increase the risk of being struck by lightning. If lightning strikes a metal object, the electricity can travel through it and potentially harm anyone in contact with it. It's best to avoid metal objects and seek shelter indoors during a lightning storm to stay safe.
Yes it is safer un a car than outside because the metal of the car attracts lightning but safely routes it to the ground but this is not do to your rubber tires as proved by NASA. Maddog1198
A javelin is the long pointed object town by the first Latina. They won an Olympic gold metal for this.
An electromagnet attracts metal because when an electric current flows through a coil of wire, a magnetic field is created around it. This magnetic field interacts with the metal object, inducing a temporary magnetic force that pulls the metal toward the electromagnet.
Yes, metal roofs are no more likely to be struck by lightning than other types of roofs. When properly installed, a metal roof can actually be safer during a lightning storm as it is noncombustible and can help dissipate the electrical charge. It is always important to follow proper safety precautions during a lightning storm regardless of the type of roof you have.
Both are static electricity.
Lightning is attracted to the tallest and most conductive object in the area. Metal poles are good conductors of electricity, so they provide a path of least resistance for the lightning to travel to the ground, reducing the risk of damage to surrounding structures.
A lightning rod is a metal rod or conductor mounted on a building or structure to protect it from lightning strikes. The rod helps to safely conduct the electrical charge from a lightning strike to the ground, reducing the risk of fire or other damage to the building.
The atoms in metals are not connected to a peticular atom so they are allowed to travel without being stopped throughout the material. This creates a conductivity to electricity. Lightning tends to head twoards object with the most conductivity thus being metal. This is also why being in a car is the safest place to be in during a lightning storm. the lightning will travel through the metal frame around the car and if im not mistaken leave through the ground (the tires) in the end not harming you.
