the head is metal and the body is plastic.
the keys are also metal..but that's a given.
so yes, and it works quite well but of course is hard to tune.
It depends. If you want to be in a marching band or anything outdoors make sure to buy a marching band piccolo with a black plastic cover. If you want to use it just for concerts indoors than get a wooden one.
Piccolo, flute, clarinet, saxophone (mostly alto and tenor, sometimes baritone), trumpet, trombone, mellophone (marching version of French horn), baritone, tuba, drums, and maybe other percussion (marimba, timpani, but those stay at the front of the field). Marching bands don't use double-reeded woodwinds, and there are no strings.
A marching band staff typically consists of the band director, a marching director, a woodwind instructor, a brass instructor, and separate instructors for the drumline and the pit. Depending on how much funding the band has, the woodwind instructor could be split between two people--a flute/piccolo leader and a clarinet leader. There might be several separate instructors for high and low brass.
The name of a mini flute instrument is called a piccolo.
Hey,I play the flute and I want to take up the piccolo too!! Well it's kinda hard to find a cheap piccolo that won't fall apart. maybe try a good conditioned used one. The type of piccolo depends on what you'll be using it for.If you're planning on using it for a marching band get a plastic one.if you're planning to use it for concerts only get a wood one. i hope this info helped.Good luck plaing that piccolo!!I hope that I get one to!! ~Your Friend, Neonatology12
