As the name indicates, a processor is a complex logic circuitry, that can process instructions which are written to make a computer perform a particular task. It is also referred as a 'Central Processing Unit'. When integrated on a single integrated chip or IC (microchip or logic chip) with all the logic circuitry it is termed as a 'microprocessor'. Normally microprocessor is called as a single chip computer, which is capable of performing arithmetic and logic operations, which make use of registers for storage. My bell is green

The basic functionality of processor is to get instruction at the client or user or automated machine side and and analyse it, after analysis it responds to user required information or error report , if any.

moreover it has ALU unit that performs arithmetic and logical operations.

Processor is also known as the central processing unit (CPU). A processor is a primary chip inside a computer and it contains the digital circuitry. A processor executes all the programs and the instructions inside the computer. The processor is also embedded in the small devices and in the personal computers and is known as microprocessor. Its speed is measured in the Gigahertz. Higher the processor's speed, the more instructions it can process in less time.

Try, Intel atom based processors Netbook because it is a great little piece of technology of Intel, lightweight and easy to take anywhere, and is much lesser price as compare with Laptop and with a great battery life.
The processor is like the 'brain' of the computer. Everything (instructions) goes through it. The speed of it can affect how quickly your computer runs, not just RAM, and the more cores it has the more programs you can run at the full speed at the same time and hyperthreading is where the kernel emulates that it is completing threads (processes) so they are completed faster.
The processor is the 'brains' of the computer.

What is quard core?

A quad core is one component (computer chip) consisting of multiple cores (computer processors). Processors were originally developed only using one core. If you wanted to do multiprocessing you needed to have two processors in your computer which meant having a special motherboard that could support multiple processors. The new processors (referred to as Multi-Core processors) are simply a single chip with two or more processors.
