The primary functions of most proteins that are synthesized by the ribosomes are enzymes--or, synonymously molecular catalyst's. Some commonly known enzymes are pyruvate dehydrogenase, phosphodiesterase; aminotranferase; and chytochrome P450 clades.

Enzymes are biological catalysts made out of proteins.

Proteins are coded for by deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).

Enzymes feature an active site where reactions are catalysed and may have other sites on the molecule where the combination of another chemical may activate or deactivate the enzyme.

Enzymes have optimum conditions to work under for pH and temperature. Enzymes are normally denatured by heavy metals, high temperatures or extremes of pH beyond their optimum range.

When an enzyme is denatured the physical structure of the protein is irreversibly damaged.

Does enzyme is a protein that acts as a catalyst?

Yes. They speed up a reaction without being consumed in it.

What can be used to speed up chemical reactions?

A catalyst

How is a catalyst used in a reaction?

Catalysts are used to speed up reactions.

What is enzyne?

enzymes are catalyst used in biochemical reactions.it speed up reactions by reducing its activation energy.mostly enzymes are protein in nature.

What are enzymes used for?

it is a protein to speed up a reation. it is like a catalyst.

What is ture of a catalyst?

It is true that a catalyst is used in chemical reactions to help speed up the reaction by reducing activation energy.

Can function to speed up chemical reactions?

A catalyst functions to speed up a chemical reaction without being used up in the reaction, meaning that a catalyst can be used more than once.

What is the use of catalysts?

A catalyst helps speed up a chemical reaction. For example, a catalyst of acidified dichromate ions or acidified permanganate ions can help speed up the reactions of oxidation of an (alcohol into an aldehyde?) etc. Catalysts are used for reactions which would usually be of a very slow speed.

Is a substance that speeds up chemical reactions in the human body?

An Enzyme.Another word used to speed up chemical reactions not necessarily in the body is a Catalyst.

Element used to speed up chemical reactions?

Anything that is added to a chemical reaction that's intended to speed up the reaction - is a catalyst.

What are the substances that increase the rate of a chemical reaction called?

A catalyst can speed up a chemical reaction. Another possible answer in the Biological sense is that Enzymes speed up chemical reactions, but these enzymes are catalysts of the chemical reactions.Different catalysts catalyse different reactions. For example iron is used as a catalyst in the Haber process (manufacture of ammonia).

What is the difference between an inhibitor and catalyst?

Catalyst speeds up reactions, and inhibitors are used to slow down reactions.
