A Regional Spelling Bee is a spelling bee where kids from several school districts compete and do a bee. If a kid from one certain school wins 1st in that, then they may go onto another Regional Spelling Bee. For example, Tennessee. Tennessee is normally divided into 3 parts; West, Middle, and East. Kids from schools all over West TN go to a West Tennessee Regional Spelling Bee to compete who, out of 273 other Regional Spelling Bees all across the US, gets to go to Washington, D.C.
