The Arkansas River runs through the middle of Colorado and Kansas. It originates in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and flows southeast through the state before entering Kansas, where it continues its journey toward the Mississippi River. The river plays a significant role in the region's ecology and water supply.

It depends on your definition of "popular". The northeastern border of Kansas is formed by the Missouri River. The Kansas River (a/k/a Kaw River) empties into the Missouri River and runs westward for well over 100 miles. The Arkansas River (pronounced "r-kansas" in the state) is rather substantial. The Arkansas River and the Missouri River both have flooded and caused significant damage on occasion. Those are the three most popular rivers in Kansas that I am aware of.
Arizona borders New Mexico to the west. The Colorado River flows through Arizona.

The West joins the Connecticut River at Brattleboro which then flows into Massachusetts.
The Hudson River flows though eastern New York State southward past the western shore of Manhattan into New York Bay. The 'East River' splits off and runs along the eastern shore of Manhattan.
The Mississippi River ends (flows into the Gulf of Mexico) in the state of Louisiana.
The Willamette river flows throgh the stste of Oregon whose capital is Salem.
