Seersucker is a thin, puckered, all-cotton fabric, usually striped or checkered. Because it's puckered, it gives it a slightly (purposefully) wrinkled appearance, which means that ironing it isn't necessary.
It's typically used to make spring or summer clothing, such as skirts, shorts, and dresses.
seersucker fabric is often used on suits for men in a blue and white stripe pattern. it has a bumpy texture caused from uneven weaving in the creation of this fabric.

Seersucker fabrics are worn in warm weather because that is what they were designed for. This type of fabric is thin and airy, making it a great choice to wear when temperatures are high.

Seersucker is a cotton fabric. It's characteristics are a puckered texture, caused by the slack-textured weave tht is used to make it. This weave means that threads are wound onto the two warp beams in groups of 10 to 16 for a narrow stripe.
Seersucker Thursday was created in 1996.
Absolutely. Provided that the seersucker creates an aesthetically pleasing combination with the linen. I would recommend standard seersucker (light blue and white) with a white or tan linen.
Yes. Only wear seersucker from mid-May until mid-September. Also, only wear blue or gray striped seersucker. Tan is too light -- and looks too much like white -- to wear to a wedding. Cheers.

If you're not familiar with the variety of suiting fabrics, visit a speciality fabric store so that you can appreciate the look and feel of each fabric. There are new wrinkle-free linens, wool flannels, gabardines and worsteds, tweeds, seersucker, silk and wool crepe.
I really wouldn't. seersucker is surprisingly "dressy", especially in the south (except shorts). I wouldn't wear a seersucker jacket with anything except the accompanying pants. Yes, any summer weight pants work with seersucker such as linen, cotton or tropical weight wool. Only men over the age of 55+ wear the accompanying seersucker pants. A more youthful and modern approach is to wear different pants with the jacket. I am a NYC fashion Designer so you can trust my advice.
A seersucker suit.
