A sensor is a device or mechanism for detecting and quantifying a phenomena. It can be mechanical, electronic, biological, etc.
A sensor net is a network or array of sensors that work together for some purpose. The sensors may be identical or different in type, depending on the purpose of the network or array of sensors.
A few examples are:
  • worldwide array of seismograph sensors used to determine magnitude and location of earthquakes around the earth
  • national arrays of sensors (seismograph, air pressure, satellite based x-ray/gamma ray) for detecting possible atmospheric nuclear tests by other nations
  • particle detector array for detecting the products of high energy particle collisions in accelerator experiments
  • the rod and cone cells in the retina the eye that detect incoming light
  • etc.

What does the crank sensor do on Dodge Caravan?

The crank sensor is used by the ECM to determine timing. However, if the sensor is not working, the ECM determines the same things from the inputs of other sensors for timing. The net is that the sensor amounts to a redundancy, allowing the ECM to determine appropriate timing more quickly than without it.

How do tennis net sensors work?

A sensing device is attached directly to the net cable or onto the anchoring cables. The device comprises of an accelerometer which triggers an electrical signal, to the speaker system, when the level of acceleration (m/s2) exceeds given levels. An accelerometer is used in place of a movement sensor because a movement sensor would be set off more regularly by the wind.

its by the three arrows that are going down-right (the arrows are made of blue and green fishes) and at the end of the third arrow, it hits a guy with green and white striped pants (he's about to catch a red fish with a net) the hot and cold sensor is the exclamation point directly on top of the guy.
