The past participle of a verb is usually an adjective, but I don't recall seeing the word 'squirmed' used as an adjective. A more common adjective is 'squirmy'. A squirmy child, a squirmy caterpillar, a squirmy character, etc. Squirmed as an adjective would describe a noun as having squirmed or having been squirmed (a squirmed...?).
