What is the convention? This question seems to have no answer as there are conventions. Multiples and, perhaps, non-singulars which define the "form" from say, novels and Novellas. A short story can be an event, where novels aer a series of events. Short Stories appear to be set in one time where novels span days, months, years, even decades. So, therefore, two conventions appear to be true: 1. Singular event 2. Singular time Having looked at these, it appears then short stories are singular in their conventions.
