A sphygmomonometer is more commonly known as a blood-pressure cuff.

It is a device used to measure a person's blood pressure.

It typically consists of an inflatable arm sleeve, an air pump or bulb, a pressure gage (that measures pressure in milligrams of Mercury), and a stethoscope.
