This climate type covers a broad category of climates, and the term "subtropical" is misleading because of the winter climate. Significant amounts of precipitation occur in all seasons in most areas. Winter rainfall and often snowfalls occur.With the exception of Antarctica all sub-humid zones lie on the southeast side of the continents.
