The climate of a humid subtropical climate is 'humid and subtropical'. Summers are very warm/hot and humid, and winters are generally short and mild. There is quite a bit of precipitation in a humid subtropical climate.

The sub-humid tropical zones are areas where hot, humid summers and chilly to mild winters occur. This climate type covers a broad category of climates, and the term "subtropical" is misleading because of the winter climate. Significant amounts of precipitation occur in all seasons in most areas. Winter rainfall and often snowfalls occur. With the exception of Antarctica all sub-humid zones lie on the southeast side of the continents.
