Synonymous terms for rankings are usually relatively hard to come by, but the catch-all "officer" (provided you're talking about the military rank, anyway) will probably work about as well if you're looking for synonyms because you don't want to say sergeant for the fourth time.
If you want to get specific or you're addressing an audience familiar with military ranking nomenclature and the corresponding acronyms you can use "noncommissioned officer" or NCO.
If this has more to do with the police than the military, "officer" also works, although you can technically then use any synonym for police officer appropriate for the situation.

There is no such rank as "First Class Sergeant". You have either Sergeant First Class, which is E7, or First Sergeant, which, along with Master Sergeant, is E8.
