a throttle sensor sends a message to the computer. it tells the computer how much peadl u have given it . this way the computer knows how much gas, what fuel/air mix and what gear to give

It's located in the throttle bosy itseld, on the opposite side of the gas cable. it's a circular flat piece of plastic with a cable connected to it, you probabbly need to remove the intake tube in order to see it.
It is right below the thermostat housing on the drivers side of the engine, below the throttle body.
