1. Adult females lay thousands of eggs in clean river beds, and then males fertilize them.

2. After 1-3 months, the eggs hatch into alevins, which stay on the riverbed and feed off the egg yolks.

3. several weeks later, they grow into 25mm fry.

4. By late summer, the young trout have grown into young parr (50-70mm long)

5. 12 to 18 months after hatching, trout enter lakes

6. once mature, trout swim back up the rivers they hatched from the spawn once more.
