Means the act or practice of penetrating a vein by needle for the purposes of collecting blood samples for laboratory tests as a diagnostic measure or blood donation by an individual to a blood bank, to later be used on patients needing blood suplementation.Venipuncture is used to collect samples of a patients' blood so that it's chemical composition can be tested to determine the cause of a specific illness or condition.
