Apparently a vomitarium was a small room where you could go to be sick, and then resume eating your ten course banquet. Info supplied by my favorite OT.
No such thing as a vomitarium, the word is vomitorium and its an exit passageway in a building.
most people ate porridge, bred and vegetables. rich people held big feasts. when they ate to much they often visited the vomitarium. this was a room in a domus (townhouse) where they wolud make themselves sick, so they could return to the dining room and continue eating.
The ancient Greeks ate fish, and wheat for breakfast. But if they got thirsty, they drank beer and wine.
