Acadians, while they are French Canadians, have an identity that is distinct and separate from those that are Québecois or Metis. Our back ground is that of the earliest settlers. Our history begins with those brave first settlers on the island in the St. Croix River. Acadians have a personality that is close to the earth, close to our beginings.
