Newton's third law states that if a body A exerts a force F on a body B, then body B will exert a force on body A of the same magnitude and type as force F but in the opposite direction.

This law is sometimes referred to as 'Every action causes an equal but opposite reaction.' This is NOT an accurate description of the law for the following reasons:

1. It does not imply that the forces have to be of the same type. (An object placed on the earth's surface experiences a reaction force but this is NOT the reaction to the weight since they are not of the same type).

2. It gives the impression that the two forces cancel each other since they are 'of the same magnitude but act in the opposite direction'. This is NOT the case, as is expressed clearly by the (true) law since the forces act on DIFFERENT bodies.

the principle behind working of a rocket is newtons 3rd law of motion which states that every action has equal and opposite reaction

What are action and reaction according to newtons 3rd law when you hit a football?

When you hit a football, the ball moving forward is the action ( visible to naked eye ). However what is not visible to naked eye is the reaction which occurs on the person kicking the football. He too is pushed backwards. But as the mass of the footballer is m=way more than that of football, no visible reaction is seen. Concept used : conservation of momentum, newtons third law of motion

True or false the law of actions and reaction states that for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction force?

true newtons 3rd law, every action has an equal and opposite reaction

How is a shooting shotgun related to newtons law 3rd?

Newton's third law states that for any action there is an equal and opposite reaction. When you shoot a shotgun it pushes back on your shoulder, it's called a kick.

What does newtons 3rd law state?

Newton's third law, for every action there is an equal and opposite Reaction. This means in that the vector forces sum to zero, mathematically this means:Action + Re-Action = 0.

Is canoeing part of any newtons law of motion?

Canoeing is an example of Newton's 3rd Law of Motion. The third law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Paddling in canoeing exhibits this law.

When you step out of a boat onto a dock the boat moves. Why?

Newtons 3rd law. Every action has and equal and opposite reaction. The energy you apply with your legs that moves you out of the boat and on to the dock, pushes back on the boat with an equal force.
