Global Warming.
By killing polar bears!
The ozone depletion causes UV to enter the earth. These are causing plankton death in Antarctica.
It already is affecting Antarctica, though not as much as in some other parts of the world. It is generally losing ice, though mostly on the coast whereas there may be slight gains in East Antarctica. It is also warming, again especially on the coast but no so much in East Antarctica.
Yes. Phytoplankton (algae) grow under the ice shelves of Antarctica. Warmer water is affecting the growth of phytoplanktons. Krill (zooplankton) need them to survive. These two are vital links in the food chain of the Antarctic. Penguins need krill and the fish that feed on krill. Climate change is damaging the food chain in Antarctica and threatening the lives of all the animals there, including the penguins.
Apparently, the oceans are warming around the Antarctic continent, thus melting the ice shelves from underneath.
since your mum lived with the dinosaurs and th ice age
We would have never discovered emperor penguins, and we would still be a bit confused of how global warming is affecting us today, and we would have never discovered the deep sea species that live in Antarctica, etc.
Penguins. They live on fish and krill. Krill supplies are being affected by warmer waters and this is affecting the whole food chain.
It's interesting and they are looking for new species of animals and plants. The more we know about Antarctica, the better we can protect in. Researchers are recording how global warming is affecting Antarctica.

Antarctica's real name is Antarctica.
