Their jobs are certainly not to defend America againts it's enemies. Their allegance is to the book of joseph smith. Mitt Romney talks about war but our sons and daughters will have to fight it.
The correct spelling is, indeed, "allege." Meaning to assert positively, declare, or affirm without proof. There are two other words similar I have seen this word replacing in a question incorrectly. Algae, as in the algae eater in an aquarium and allergy, as in an allergy to milk.

no, you put your hand over your heart just like everyone else. you can however salut indoors to another person or to a flag if you feel it is appropriate or you choose to do so. The army and airforce salut without hats indoors when they report in to a new commander or when getting an award or promotion, marines and sailors typically do not but while appearing odd it would not be incorrect for a shipmate to do something like that (unless they were reporting in since rules tell you exactly how to do that)
Classical Latin has no word for "baron" because they did not exist in ancient times. The Latin word baro referred to a servant, slave or simply "man". It literally means "blockhead" or "lout".The medieval "Baron" is one of the many different levels of knighthood and is Anglo-Norman French, derived from baro, but with a much more positive meaning. It means an important knight who has sworn allegance directly to the king - a "king's man", someone he could rely on.The medieval Latin version was still baro.
If its the American Pledge of Allegance -- it would be -- Yo saludo a la bandera de los estados unidos de América y la república que representa una nación bajo Dios indivisible con libertad y justicia para todos.
