Right handedness is known as Dexter, and left handedness as Sinister.
That is the correct spelling of "ambidexterity" (being ambidextrous, able to write or otherwise use either hand).
it is wonderful that I am ambidextrous, that means that I can also multitask! A switch hitter in baseball should be naturally ambidexterous.
The word is ambidexterous. It means both hands. Most people prefer one hand over the other when performing actions. The ambidexterous person can perform an action with either hand having equal dexterity in the action. Writing is the most striking of these actions. Most people cannot perform this action with their non-dominate hand with any degree of skill.

If its a toddler who is learning to write and colour in you may find that he/she will swap hands a lot but will eventually settle on one. They may go back to swapping hands and become ambidextrous. I am and if your child is they are really lucky as it comes in very handy and don't read up on it to much you might get confused.
Cats can be right pawed, left pawed, or ambidextrous (which means they use both paws). If you want to test if your cat is left or right pawed, or both, put a treat in the bottom of a narrow cup, and see which paw they use to take the treat out. The cup needs to be small enough so their head can't fit through.
If you want to be ambidexterous its all about - incresing nervous enervation of your muscles on your weak side and teaching your brain to control it (eg. the number of nerves to that side), - incresing strength (muscle mass) on that side, - incresing flexibility of the tendons and ligaments for ease of use so try - simple activities with the other limb first eg. writing, shaving, holding thigs and picking this up and then work up to activites such as catching things or juggling etc. Generaly notice how you use your body aswell and experiment with reversing sides. - strech - lift wieghts with the other side hope this helps! sam
