ammonia and phosphoric acid combines to for mono-ammonium phosphate (MAP) and if MAP is further reacted with ammonia then it gives di-ammonium phosphate (DAP)

both reactions are exothermic in nature. reaction is as follows

NH3 + H3PO4 ------> (NH4)H2PO4 (MAP)

NH3 + NH4H2PO4 --------> (NH4)2HPO4 (DAP)
