The largest odd-toed ungulate is the white rhinoceros, while the largest even toed ungulate is the giraffe. An ungulate is a mammal with hooves, and not real "toes" When you think of hooves, you could think of horses or deer. Both are ungulates. There are two types of ungulates. Even toed and odd toed. Odd toed ungulates have 1, 3, 5 and so on toes. Even toed have 2, 4, and so on.
The okapi is a mammal native to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is known for its unique appearance, resembling a cross between a giraffe and a zebra. Okapis are shy and elusive animals, typically found in dense rainforests.
Giraffes are even-toed ungulate mammals and the largest ruminants of the World. They are distinguished because of their long legs and necks, the latter allows them to stand very tall above most of the animals in the African savannah, which is the only place where all the known species of giraffe live.
Giraffes have good eyesight and hearing to avoid predators (usually lions) from eating them. Most lions will avoid giraffes as their long legs and hooves can be lethal to an attacking lion. The giraffe is a hoofed animal and doesn't have claws. It is an even-toed ungulate mammal.

Giraffes are classified under the Order Artiodactyla (Even-Toed Ungulates), the Family Giraffidae (Ruminant Artiodactyls), and the Genus Giraffa. An Ungulate is a mammal that supports it weight on its toes, usually as hooves. An Even-Toed Ungulate has its weight distributed evenly across its third and fourth toe (as opposed to Odd-Toed Ungulates which support most of their weight on the third toe). Being Ruminant means that the Giraffe has two stomachs in order to digest the plants it consumes. The first stomach is used to initially soften the food, which is then regurgitated back into the Giraffe's mouth to be re-chewed, and swallowed into the second stomach to complete digestion.
