The alphanumeric keypad contains the alphabet and numbers as well as special keys such as Pause Break and Print Screen. It is very similar to the standard typewriter keyboard.

How do you get numbers working again?

Provided you are talking about computer keyboards, you will need
to press the "Num Lock" key on you numbers keypad to the
right of the keyboard. This key is commonly placed just above the 7
(seven) key on the numbers keypad.
This should get the numbers working again.
These instructions are for the most common of desktop keyboard,
and may not work on smaller laptop or notepad keyboard, but there
should be some kind of Numbers Lock key to lock the numbers keypad
to allow the input of numbers into the computer.
