What does nuvigil show up as on a drug screen?
Nuvigil is the brand name of Armodafinil, a non-amphetamine
wakefulness promoting agent prescribed for narcolepsy, shift-work
sleep disorder, and obstructive sleep apnea. Its chemical structure
makes it an ampakine, which is not similar to any other drug tested
for on a standard 5- or 7-panel drug screen such as cannabis,
amphetamines, opiates, cocaine, PCP, benzodiazapines, etc. However,
that does not mean that it cannot be tested for, should a screener
choose to look for it specificially.
