An acqired trait is one which an individulal acquires during his/her life time. It is not passed down to the progeny. For example, one acquirs knowledge by reading books. This knowledge is not passed down to the ofspring. Whereas, an inherited trait passes from one generation to the newer generation.

Example:

Playing The Piano

Sports

Reading Music

ect.
