I have worked in HR for more than 20 years. I would say that a median wage would be around $40,000 per year. Depends on the size of the HR department (or if it's a one man/woman show) and the size of the company.
These positions (if they are called managers) are exempt (salary no overtime) and usually include a decent benefit package (again depending on the company).
These days it's hard to get into HR without a degree but I have been doing it so long, I rely on my experience and do not have one.
Hope this helps!

This will also depend on the size of company you work in and the cost of living in the area. I have seen anywhere from $65K-$200K and even more if you have your PHR, SPHR certifications.
