if a tree in a dense forest grows than surrounding trees,it is ableto absorb more of the incoming sunlight than nearby trees of the shade of greater trees is less sunlight...that is interspecific competition,,,,,
Well for most animals there really isn't any competition. Polar Bears are the top of food chain. They are the main hunters of the tundra. so to them we (humans) are the only other competition for most animals that live in the Tundra.
There is fairly diverse animal life in the tundra regions. There are three different tundra regions - arctic, alpine and antarctic. In these regions, tree growth is hindered due to extreme cold and the vegetation consists of grasses, mosses, short shrubs and lichens.
In the arctic tundra, only 48 land mammals are found, but large numbers of insects and birds migrate to marshy lands in these regions each year. Some of the animals found in the arctic tundra region are caribou, Arctic fox, musk ox, hare, lemmings, snowy owls and polar bears.
The antarctic tundra has little vegetation, so the flora consists mainly of lichens, mosses and algae. The antarctic tundra has very few animal species, the ones that are there are seals and penguins, in areas near the shore.
Unlike the polar tundras, in the alpine tundra regions, the soil is well drained. Mammals found in this region are elk, marmots, mountain goats, pikas and sheep. Insects found here include beetles, butterflies, grasshoppers and springtails.
