a metaphor is an implied comparison of two things, but stating that one of those things, IS the other, instead of directly comparing using like or as.

Examples: Her waste-line was a broomstick.

His vocabulary is filthy.

*Exaggeration is a big part of using metaphors

He thundered around the house shouting at everybody.
