What school is best for studying interior design in Milan Scuola Politecnica di Design or Instituto Europeo di Design?

as a current student of SPD I would like to warn people against this instituation. For the extortionate fees one would expect to receive a significant amount of quality regarding the facilities and teaching in general, however I have found not only the structure of the courses absolutely archaic and the teaching positively pointless but the facilities are non existent. For a masters programme particularly one would expect something akin to a masters programme anywhere else in the world, however this is nothing of the sort. It is essentially a glorified high school. Despite Italy's reputation for bureaucracy and an education system that leaves a lot to be desires, I foolishly applied for this course and was accepted. In the lead up to starting my studies there, there was a lot of contact from administration attempting to make me feel very welcome, however upon arrival, not only did i find that the administration was incompetent, constantly losing paperwork, saying different things to different students, but the didactic staff truly truly incompetent. A group of people whose job it seems is to look after the educational welfare of the students, but who in reality are more concerned with exerting a false sense of power of both students and staff in order to glorify their pathetic existences. I would advise anyone against attending this course. The only institution that in my eyes would be of any value in Milan would be politecnico di milano. Whilst Domus has a good name, again it is a glorified high school. IED may have great facilities but is essentially a hub for trust fund teens that dont know any better unfortunately. Please think seriously and do your research before SPD as for me personally and many of my classmates it is truly one of the worst decisions we have ever made to come and study here.

When did the movement to protect the environment catch on in a big way?

Conservation of the environment is a hot topic now: we worry about global warming, shrinking rainforests, extinction of exotic plants and animals, disappearing frontiers and foliage. The subject didn't just arise recently, however. In the US, for example, artists and writers in the nineteenth century were already singing the praises of nature and opining the encroaching settlement of wide-open spaces. Long before early conservationists like Henry David Thoreau and John Muir, John Chapman, aka Johnny Appleseed, wandered from Pennsylvania through Ohio and Indiana, planting nurseries of flowers and fruit trees, and nurturing orchards. Chapman, who was born September 26, 1774, sold and gave away thousands of saplings and apple seeds to families migrating westward. In 1895, the Connecticut Forest Association was formed. Connecticut became the nation's leader of the conservation movement when it was the first state in the US to appoint a state forester after the Connecticut Forest Association pushed the General Assembly in 1901 into creating legislation that took the state into action in this conservation. It was also the first state to use state money to buy land to be used for state forests. This organization is now known as the Connecticut Forest and Park Association and continues to provide conservation education, forest stewardship, grassroots (or should I say "treeroots"?) political action, as well as providing maintenance over 700 miles of hiking trails.
