An internal combustion engine has pistons that slide up and down in each cylinder. They do this very rapidly and need oil for lubrication to prevent melting the cylinder walls.

An O-ring is a slim metal piece that surrounds the head of the piston and prevents oil from getting above the piston and being burned in the combustion chamber. This is a good thing, as the supply of oil will not decrease so quickly. This also reduces unpleasant exhaust gases and prevents the combustion gases from contaminating the oil.

oil control ring

What is two type of piston ring?

There are compression ring and oil control ring

When a piston has three rings the bottom ring will be?

A special oil control ring

Does 2 stroke engine contain oil ring?

no useally just two compression rings , since there is no crankcase oil to control and since the oil is part of the fuel mix a oil control ring is not needed

Does the bottom piston ring on a four-cycle engine help control excessive compression?

No, the bottom ring is the oil ring. It wipes excess oil off the cylinder wall.

A typical oil control ring consists of separate part?

Three

When a piston has three ring the bottom ring will be?

Most commonly the bottom ring will be the Oil Controlring.(Control added by amclaussen.)Oil control ring is correct. It is used to keep the cylinder lubricated as the piston goes up and down. The first two top rings are for compression. However, the 2nd from the top ring is also a wipper ring. Used to keep oil from getting into the combustion chamber.(~Decker)

A typical oil control ring consists of how many separate parts?

TWO

Which Access control method circulates special transmission packets to control media access?

This is a function of the token ring topology.

What is the clearance of piston ring to the block?

There is no clearance of the ring to the block. The ring works in contact with the block to seal the combustion chamber and provide oil control.

How do you install piston rings?

The DNJ ring spec. information, printed on each compression ring (located next to the piston ring gap), is installed facing the top of the piston for both the top (#1) and middle (#2) compression piston ring slots. The oil control ring can be installed just like any other oil control ring in the bottom (#3) piston ring slot.
