After much research, I have come to the conclusion that thrips are defined as an orange flying and biting insect. I was at a park today with my children, and I was wearing white and blue. Apparently these bugs are vegetation but will "taste" humans to determine if they are a source of food.
I saw one with a very round body which was about an 1' 1/2 long. It flew and had what appeared to be a stinger which was about an inch long itself.
It could be a sirex wood wasp the female has a black body with orange legs, males the same but with orange band on the body.
Black millipedes with orange stripes are not poisonous. These insects are often found in people's homes but post no threat.

Perhaps, a Sphex digger wasp. They have black and white stripes and a stinger almost as long as their body.
I think its an Isabella Tiger Moth.
